If everything in life comes easily, then you won't grow as a person.
Whenever bad things happen to us, we think "Why me" or "What have I done to deserve this" or "It's not fair!" Unfortunately, we can't avoid challenges -- but we could accept challenges more easily if we're willing to see them as opportunities for change.
While we were struggling financially, we had lots of car problems. We had two vehicles and both of them would have the SAME problem happening at the SAME time. We couldn't afford to keep throwing hundreds of dollars at a mechanic to fix them. So, I decided to challenge myself to fix minor problems with my car by watching YouTube videos. Pretty soon, I was working on my own cars and saving THOUSANDS of dollars in mechanic costs!
Now whenever I have a car issue, I don't worry about it. I'm thinking about how I could fix it! I hated going through car issues, but now I'm thankful that I did!
Challenges push you reach a higher level in life than where you are now. Challenges force you to become better, to do better, to seek better, and to think better. If it weren't for challenges, we would all be in the same ol' place, thinking the same ol' way, having the same ol' views in life.
Why does it take a challenge to improve us? Because:
Challenges, however, tell you that you could do better and be better in life.
No, you probably don't see it that way now. You're still quite bitter about the challenge that you're still going through. But in time, you will look back and see that this challenge was actually helping you.
Hang tight! Don't give up! Keep pushing on, because the challenge doesn't want to see you fail. It wants you to succeed!
If there is something that you really want but haven't gotten yet, it may be because you're just not ready for it yet.
You don't want to be given something that you can't handle now, right?
My daughter is quite an artist -- just like her daddy (yeah, I had to brag!). She is only 7 years old, but could draw detailed pictures and even draw out scenarios!
One day, we were in BJ's and showed her a serious artwork set. This set was expensive and had many tools that serious artists would use. She was excited about getting that set one day, but I told her that she can't have it now because she wasn't ready for it. Why wasn't she ready? Because:
If I bought that artwork set for her now, most of those tools would be lost or broken or used up.
Same thing for you. Perhaps you think you're ready to receive a certain blessing, but don't realize that you're just not ready for it yet. If you were to get it now, you might ruin it!
Yes, we want those blessings now. But we need to understand that certain blessings come only when the receiver is able to handle them.
But when you are ready for the blessings, the blessings will stay with you as long as you're able to keep them. When you're ready for the blessings, you will know how to handle them -- and you would learn to appreciate them even more!
Now if you want to receive those blessings quicker, then you better start learning quicker. The longer it takes for us to get ready, the longer it will be until those blessings come.
